Some information from our National LGBT-organization. They look for a person working with a exhibition that will tour around Sweden.

RFSL Ungdom har nyligen beviljats medel ur Allmänna Arvsfonden för projektet Cry no more. Projektet går ut på att följa den turnerande föreställningen No Tears for Queers med en utbildningssatsning bestående av workshops, föreläsningar och publiksamtal. Syftet är att koppla hatbrott till samhälleliga normer kring kön och sexualitet. Nu söker vi medarbetare till projektet som kan utveckla och genomföra utbildningarna.

No Tears for Queers är Johan Hiltons uppmärksammade reportagebok om manlighet och hatbrott mot homosexuella. Riksteatern och Regionteater Väst gör nu teater av boken. Efter premiären den 16 september i Göteborg turnerar föreställningen runt i hela Sverige under hösten 2009 och våren 2010. Syftet med samarbetet är att bereda väg för diskussion och reflektion efter varje föreställning. Den intensiva utbildningssatsningen kommer att föregås av metodutveckling och skapande av lokala nätverk kring hatbrott, heteronormativitet och hbt-frågor.

Till projektet söker vi nu tre medarbetare på mellan 50 och 100%. Basen för arbetet är Stockholm men mycket resande kommer ingå i alla tjänster.

Arbetsuppgifter:

- Hålla föreläsningar och interaktiva workshops för ungdom- och vuxengrupper

- Utveckla pedagogiska metoder

- Samordna och administrera utbildningar och utbildarnas turné

- Skapa lokala nätverk kring frågor som rör hbt, heteronormativitet och hatbrott

Vi tror att du som söker tjänsten har:

- Erfarenhet av att arbeta med utbildning gentemot ungdomar och vuxna

- God kunskap i frågor som rör hbt, heteronormativitet och hatbrott

- Erfarenhet av att arbeta interaktivt med normkritisk pedagogik

- Erfarenhet av att arbeta (ideellt eller avlönat) i en ideell eller idéburen organisation

- Erfarenhet av att arbeta i projektform, gärna på ledande position

- Nyfikenhet, kreativitet och initiativförmåga

This Saturday does the strange whale-inspired event Squvalp occurs, and Gaytek will observe the spectacle from a distance.

At the end of the message there’s a link to the map, where you can see a small island (One can walk a little in the water to get there), closest bus stop should be Västerbroplan (take Bus 4 for Gullmarsplan, from Tekniska Högskolan). I think we should meet there about 10-11, bring Champagne and Strawberries, or whatever you would like to eat on a virgin island a sunny decadent morning in the middle of Stockholm. There should be sun. Bring something more to eat too, the Squvalp show will begin soon after 14. There will be a rainbow flag well visible.

In May 2009 Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will organise the first ever joint
Pride event in Riga. Three organisations – Estonian Gay Youth (EGN), LGBT
and Their Friends Association MOZAIKA and the Lithuanian Gay League (LGL) -
agreed to establish a new tradition of organising joint pride events in the
Baltic and to launch this initiative in Riga.

Some info about the store

There is a special queer and feministic book store in Stockholm, called Hallongrottan. They also have different interesting activities and of course have quite a lot of nice books, magazines and other things.

The name “Hallongrottan” is actually a word play. It means litterally raspberry cave, and is a special kind of cookie in sweden, but also have other, more obscene meanings…
